Shoulder Pain Physical Therapy in Asheville, NC
Shoulder pain doesn’t just limit your workouts — it affects how you move through life. Whether you’re an athlete, active adult, or simply want to reach overhead without discomfort, our expert physical therapists help you get back to lifting, throwing, and living pain-free.
We focus on identifying the root cause of your shoulder pain, not just treating the symptoms, so you can return to the activities you love stronger than before.

Why Shoulder Pain Keeps Coming Back
The shoulder is one of the most mobile joints in the body — and one of the most complex. When strength, mobility, or stability is off, even slightly, it can create pain that doesn’t go away with rest alone. That’s why we take a movement-driven approach to assess how your shoulder, scapula, and surrounding muscles work together before designing your plan of care.

Can’t lift or reach without pain?
Every overhead motion can feel like a setback.

Losing strength and confidence?
Guarding your shoulder often changes your form and triggers new aches elsewhere.

Tried rest or generic PT plans?
Without a targeted, performance-based program, progress plateaus and pain lingers.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a physician referral to start PT?
No. North Carolina is a direct-access state, so you can start PT without a referral. We screen thoroughly and refer out when needed.
Do you take my insurance?
We’re a private-pay (out-of-network) clinic. You can use HSA/FSA, and we’ll provide a superbill for possible out-of-network reimbursement.
How long are visits and are they one-on-one?
Yes—one-on-one with your DPT, with longer visits so we can treat and train effectively.
Is dry needling used for shoulder pain?
When appropriate, yes—dry needling can reduce muscle tension and pain so we can progress mobility and strengthening.
